Prosody and Voice Study

The Prosody and Voice Study is underway!

Data collection has begun on our most recent study: Prosody and Voice Characteristics of Children with Cochlear Implant. The goal of this research is to better understand how children with cochlear implants produce and perceive certain aspects of speech that affect prosody (such as intonation) and the quality of their speech.

So far we have worked with 4 participants, but we are looking to work with many more!  Participants will engage in a combination of speech and language testing, computerized listening games, and plenty of play with these fun toys!

We are still looking for participants between 4 and 5 years of age or between 6 and 7 years of age, and we need both normal hearing children and children with cochlear implants!  If you would like to become involved or need more information, select “Participate”  on the top menu bar of the webpage or contact us at
