The 2014 American Speech-Language- Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention is right around the corner!
More than 12,000 attendees will travel to Orlando, Florida on November 20th to discuss recent research, best clinical practices, and new tools in the field of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. This year’s theme is “Science. Learning. Practice. Generations of Discovery.”
Three members of the Cochlear Implant Communication Lab will be in attendance this year!
Kellie Ileto, CICL Research Assistant and first-year graduate clinician at GWU, has been selected to be participant in the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Minority Student Leadership Program (MSLP) Class of 2014. As an MSLP participant, she will take part in a set of leadership-focused educational programs and activities at the Convention. She will also have the opportunity to interact with leaders in the professions of audiology, speech-language pathology, and speech, language, and hearing sciences. Congratulations Kellie!
Dr. Mahshie, Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences Chair and CICL Founder, will also be attending the ASHA convention this year to take in the hundreds of exhibits, presentations, and seminars relating to all topics in the speech-language and audiology fields.
Dr. Core will be giving two poster presentations on her recent research: Predictors of Bilingual Speech Production in English-Spanish Speaking Preschoolers at 48 Months and Assessing Language Abilities in Young Bilinguals: Parent Report vs. Examiner-Administered Measures.
