Dr. Mahshie presents current research at the 18th International Congress of Phonetic Sciences in Glasgow

This summer, in addition to overseeing all of the research happening in his Cochlear Implantation Communication Lab (CICL), Dr. James Mahshie (Department Chair at GWU) and Dr. Cynthia Core (Assistant Professor at GWU) presented their paper, A Longitudinal Study of Speech Feature Contrast Production in Children with Cochlear Implants, at the 18th International Congress of Phonetic Sciences in Glasgow, Scotland, UK!

They joined many other speech scientists, researchers, and scholars to discuss the current breakthroughs being made in the field of phonetic science. In addition to their study of speech feature contrast production in children with cochlear implants, Dr. Mahshie is currently conducting a study focusing on the prosody and voice characteristics of children with cochlear implants and hearing aids - stay tuned for more information on this new and exciting study!
